Endgame season is fast approaching, and I've been doing some thinking regarding what to do about the OOG fact that my knee is likely as good as it's ever going to be again, and the IG fact that Morgan is a front-line fighting thug. I thought about doing the "Wait a while longer and see what happens at fight practices before doing anything", but then realized that, as much as I'd like to deny it, I just can't predict when I'm going to have a bad day and be gimping around with the cane, and events are going to aggravate it. I need to suck it up and adjust things appropriately.

According to boy, my best option is to look into a medical respec, which will entail finding out a.) who, precisely, I discuss that with, b.) what that process is, and c.) oh dear gods, this sort of alters my timeline for the season, at least. Also, I should probably do this before the first Temple event (Canada is already a caster, and besides, I still need to build her in the first place)... *sigh*

*whines* But I didn't wanna be a caster!! *pout*

Is "poof" a technical term?

Good to know.

Yeah, will be poking the GM soon to discuss how to go about making this work.

Also (while I'm on the subject) had you mentioned something about a forum list I should be getting added to at some point, or is my brain making shit up again?

I think I mentioned this, but that doesn't mean your brain may not be making stuff up. ;)

(I'll get on this.)

Oh, I'm sure it's making something up. It's just figuring out what it is and what it isn't that gets tricksy sometimes...

And yes, I already told her this, but she needs to hear it from someone else apparently.

:P

Is there an Endgame equivalent to Alliance/NERO's Templar class? That way you can slide between thuggery and casting, depending on that day's needs.

The new header I was already taking up has a staff option with it that, depending how this works, I'll be taking up. My main concern for myself is that I'm dumb about self-care, and if I keep the option of grabbing my swords (or, in Morgan's case, rebar), I'll keep defaulting to them and make sure that I don't make it through Friday night without crippling myself for the next week. I learned that the hard way at the season closer when I needed the cane just to get around the house, and STILL kept trying to fight.

I figure that, worst case, I pick them back up in the future if my knees improve. :)

The Accelerant system has Headers instead of classes. You spend 2-5CP/Build to buy a header, say Paladin or Survivalist depending on which game you're playing. Each header has skills that you now have access.

So say you bought Paladin, you can now buy the 5 damage(slay) skill for 4 CP, the parry skill for 2CP, the Lay on Hands skill for 4CP, the resist fear skill for 1 CP, buckler (prereq for shield) for 2cp, shield for 2cp, wear extra armor x2 for 2cp each rank (can now wear a 4point suit of armor instead of the base 2).

This would make you a thug, because you bought melee based skills. You can also buy as many headers as the game allows, as long as you have the CP to buy more. So you can then pick up Priest and buy spells.

All these skills are powered by your attributes, Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. Void are your resets for the weekend. You start with 2 of each. You now spend CP to raise your attributes so you can use your skills. Raising Void gives you more resets per weekend. 5damage costs 2 earth, so you'd need 4 earth to swing 5 damage twice per reset.

HPs are the average of earth+void, so fighters typically have more hps than casters. That's the basis of how the system works.

So it's really easy to just drop a thug header, pick up a caster header, respend attributes, buy new skills and be the same person with an entirely new skill set.
