I was wondering that, myself. Mine uses kibble as a plumb-bob to assess how deep the water is before he'll drink it. I'd assume they should be reasonably easy, as they are designed by a guy with cats, but I'd probably ask, just in case.
And the response... "Actually, my fountains couldn't be easier to clean. A little warm soapy water is all it takes. Less than a minute." Says there's more info in the customer feedback on the etsy site.
