Yup. I'm a wee bit bored, and slightly under the weather (fighting off a small summer cold...blech), and thought I'd take a break from re-ordering my book collection to post an odd little exercise. As I've mentioned before I don't think in words, which I guess most folks do to some extent, which often leaves me struggling to translate what I'm thinking into something that other people can understand. So, I thought it would be an interesting exercise to try and put how I translate some stuff. Mainly basic emotions. It might also be interesting if others were to put their associations up, if any are so inclined. (I'm curious, you see. ;) )

Synaesthetic Lexiconum

Memory: smells like dusty feathers, melted beeswax, and ink
Fear: smells like ozone and fire
Anger: tastes like iron fillings and ashes
Contentment: feels like warm fur and incense, with an undercurrent of rumbling breath
Happiness: smells like apples, clean wind, and rivers
Despair: feels like razor-wire hidden beneath silk and rose petals
Curiosity: tastes like cinnamon and ozone
Regret: tastes like honeyed ashes
Lust: tastes like honeyed whiskey, leather, and pomegranates
Love: smells like red wine and sweetgrass
