Mmm, Endgame...

Hurricane Earl was a mere annoyance of heavy mist and absolutely disgusting humidity Friday night, which happily cleared out by dawn on Saturday. Got to have a lot of good RP this weekend, including with a few folks I've never actually spoken to much in-game, which I was pleased about. Loading up the Scholar skills was definitely a Good Idea, as it has been giving a lot more opportunity to do something useful around Temple. Loading up on the Professionalism skill was an even better idea, especially when one has to translate 4 documents from Malish to English under a lot of pressure.

Waking up to the sound of growling and scuffling on the porch, followed by the sound of fighting and realizing that I've popped myself off the bed and into the shadows behind it was highly amusing, once the adrenaline wore off. (Peregrine and Ian were coming down to light the pharos on the house and intercepted some sort of mutant thingy that was heading towards the door. I was the only one in the cabin, already asleep. They scared the FUCK out of me when they came in, because in the dark, without my glasses, I couldn't tell it was them until one of them spoke.)

Sunday's big fight was tough, which was awesome (and amusing when I realized later that I'm pretty sure I'd started snarling at the NPC's), though I did sustain my weekend's only injury during that one. I'd gotten dropped and was bleeding out on the ground, when the next thing I know there is someone standing on my head. Not a figure of speech. Turns out, just after I'd fallen, Rellik_canard was charged by something, and was doing the backing up run thing, and so didn't see me lying on the ground. He ran right up onto the side of my skull. Needless to say, I sat out the rest of the fight, while I attempted to determine if I'd gotten a concussion out of the deal, since the step had started with a pretty good kick and drag up the side of my head at the temple area, and my head was more than a little sore. (He's not dainty, and those are big boots.)

Happily, aside from a bit of surface tenderness and some missing hair, no concussion, which of course means it is my moral obligation to tease him mercilessly about it. ;) (I'm a girl, and a member of the Carr clan; It's encoded in our DNA. Don't worry, I only tease about it when I'm not seriously hurt. Otherwise it's just plain cruelty, and I don't go in for that sort of thing. Often. ;) )

Overall, great weekend. Not sure what I think about the idea of dreaming about conversations with Peregrine regarding Ghostwalker stuff all night, but my brain is weird at the best of times. Now, though, it's time to bathe and get ready for grillings with friends.
