Edit: A video that shows the umbrella. 'Cause yeah, it TOTALLY looks like a gun. Ya know, aside from being the wrong shape and color and looking nothing like a rifle except for being the same length...

I can actually get there... if I were a little paranoid, and not a LARPer. Because personally I would have moved closer to get a better look before blowing whistles.

Not paranoid, not a LARPer, have a clue what an actual gun looks like, paused to take a second look before freaking the hell out...

That last part there is what irritates me. All they had to do was, ya know, take a second look to see that it looks NOTHING like a gun. That and the fact that it's not the first time people have decided that something completely innocuous was obviously a weapon. (LED boards, backpacks, a cardboard of abandoned kittens...)

This is why the friggin' media needs to stop the fear-mongering that the "TERRORISTS R EVERYWHEEEERE".
