Men seem to tend to commit to one or the other. They'll either entirely clear the whole thing or leave it as is and just go with it (the second one, I also get bitchy about, as that's a huge safety issue for everyone). Same with the coat. It's either on or off, not the whole half-way in between thing. I've seen more women do stuff like this one. She was also halfway in the road when she decided "oh, maybe I should actually clean this off". Not saying it's all women, as I know a large number who are actually smart about this stuff, but I also know (and have been on the receiving end of too many soccer moms) a sadly higher proportion who are, unfortunately, the poster children for why the stereotypes exist.

I also concede, as a result of too many negative experiences with women doing really dumb things (my favorite is still getting rear-ended at a drive-through because she "took her foot off the brake to adjust her mirror") that I tend to auto-fill the issue.
