The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the trees are being very green...

I think I feel like doing Ogham readings* today. One card draw**, donations appreciated, comment below or email me at podroznystudio@gmail.com. As usual, all answers will be given within 24 hours, window is between now and 6 PM tonight.

Ask away and feel free to tell friends you think might be interested. :)

* Ogham, for the unfamiliar, are a divination system based on early Irish tradition similar to the Norse runes. They are "the language of the trees", as it were. (For example: Beithe, or birch, is the tree of new beginnings or renewal and Duir, or Oak, is the tree of strength and stability, a good solid grounded approach.)

**I'm legally obligated to make the note that readings are for entertainment purposes only, not to be taken as serious legal, medical, etc. advice, instruction, substitute for professional consultation, I'm not responsible for what you do with it, etc. etc., you all know the drill I'm sure.

You lean against the broad, solid trunk of the Great Oak, sheltered from the hot sun by it's wide-spreading canopy, and enjoy the gentle summer breeze as it whispers by.

Duir, the Oak, is the tree of strength and support, of maturity and goodwill. It is also a gateway tree, as it's similar sounding name to a more familiar word implies: Door. It speaks of forward progress on something you've been building toward, and says that the foundation is good and solid. You have built it well. You are in a good place to move toward it, with the support of the Oak on your side.

Ogham please, and I'd like to not give you a particular direction. I'd like to hear what the trees want me to know, rather than what I want to know. :)

Catkins releasing tiny, winged seeds into the breeze, the Alder shimmers, greenly, in the spring sunlight.

Fearn, the Alder, is the tree of council and guidance. It says you seek answers and advice, and that they are nearby. The trick is finding the right answers. Alder councils you to sit calmly, quiet the chattering voices of the conscious mind, and listen to the voice within. You know the answers already, you just need to listen for them. Trust your intuition.

Every one-card pull style reading I've had has had this (or similar) answer to it. Ah, the universe still has a sense of humour.

If you want, I can do a more in-depth one for you, see if I can dig some more information out of the leaves?

If you would like to do so, you're welcome to. However, I'm also okay with the universe telling me to walk the path without a scout to give me information ahead of time.

By the door and at the four corners, the red-berried Rowan tree stands guard, protection against harm.

Luis, the Rowan, is the tree of protection and safe-guarding. Though it's presence often indicates that there may be some form of danger or someone who may intend harm of some kind, do not worry, you are protected. You have the means to easily guard yourself. It is the sanctuary tree, and speaks of a safety and security. It is a good luck charm, as it were.

Fire-berried, the holly tree stands tall and defiant, challenging all who would test their strength against it.

Tinne, the Holly, is the tree of testing and trials; of tempering in the fires of the forge. It may speak of an inner battle being waged, one that can threaten to burn if you are not careful. It is a challenge, yet not one that you lack the tools to overcome. It is a tempering, which endurance and courage will help see you through.

Thanks, with to many QA'er watching youtube, hulu and the like there was a bit of a clamp down on random internets use, so LJ took a back seat the past two days.

I don't really have a question, I would like to say what the trees say and figure out where to apply it.

Shining on the hillside, red fruit hanging low, the Apple offers shelter and nourishment beneath it's branches.

In the Ogham, Quert, the Apple, is the proverbial heart of the forest. It is the tree of shelter, of rest and recovery. It's fruit provide health for the body, while the sweet scent of it's blossoms soothe the mind. It is a tree more of "being" than of "doing". Often it's message is one of taking time to rest. If you have been busy, to make sure you give yourself the downtime you need to be healthy, or your body will make you take the time. If you have had health issues, either physical or mental, it signifies that you are moving away from the hard part, and toward wholeness. It is the gentle, cooling rain at the end of a too-hot day, when you can finally relax.
